World Record for Mass Wedding in India Set 2,143 Couples

On May 26, something unexpected occurred in the Indian city of Baran. In just under 6 hours, 2,143 couples got married, breaking two world records. The previous record, which was held by 963 Yemeni couples, was surpassed by this amazing event.

Shri Mahaveer Goshala Kalyan Sansthan, a registered trust with the mission of assisting disadvantaged couples in beginning their married lives, organized the weddings. The ceremonies were officiated by government representatives and religious leaders, and the newlyweds received jewelry, appliances, furniture, and home items as gifts from the trust. For everyone involved, it was a very memorable day.
