Asian Cricket Council Accepted PCB’s Hybrid Model of Asia Cup

The hybrid method proposed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finally been approved by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). After weathering tough competition, the hybrid mode will officially serve as the official tournament format in 2023.

The hybrid format stipulates that four matches will be alternately hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Nine more games will take place in Sri Lanka. The Asia Cup schedule has also been made available.

World audiences will be able to watch the Asia Cup from August 31 until September 17, 2023. The top teams from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Afghanistan will compete in the 13 ODI matches.

The division of all the teams into two groups will occur. The Super Four stage will be reached by two teams from each group. The two Super Four champion teams will compete against one another in the grand finale. The first Group includes India, Pakistan, and Nepal. Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh make up Group 2.

The most thrilling news for cricket lovers is likely the impending start of the Asia Cup.
